About Janelle

CBackground and Qualifications:

Janelle was raised in Central Iowa and has always been interested in the development and training of equines. She has shown successfully at every level of competition and in almost every discipline. Janelle attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. In 1998, Janelle earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine Production. During her time in college, Janelle developed a desire to not only train, show, and prepare horses, but also the individuals who ride and show these wonderful animals. She became the assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls Intercollegiate Equestrian Team. After successfully competing with her collegiate students at the University of Wisconsin for 4 years, Janelle and her husband Dave decided to move closer to their families.

In 2002, Janelle moved back to Norwalk, Iowa. She has worked hard to build her successful training business. Janelle Ward Performance Horses has grown tremendously in the past 7 years after moving her business to Central Iowa. She is ready for you to come and join her winning team! She is also constantly working to improve her knowledge.

Just this last year she spent four days working side-by-side with Richard Shrake as his assistant for a private clinic in Nebraska. In November of 2008 she went to Amarillo, Texas to be part of the Leadership AQHA she was trained to be an Ambassador for AQHA and all they have to offer horse enthusiasts not just AQHA members.

Janelle has trained and coached many successful horse and rider combinations. She also prides herself in helping many of her clients learn to do their own training through lessons. This teaches her riders the fundamentals and bond to reach their goals and truely be a team that is competitive and can last a life time!

Janelle’s clientele continues to grow extensively as Janelle and her clients have had great success throughout the years. By the end of the year, Janelle and her clients are circuit and reserve circuit champions, even world champions, and accomplished much, much more beyond the awards.
