Background and Qualifications:
Janelle was raised in Central Iowa and has always been interested in the development and training of equines. She has shown successfully at every level of competition and in almost every discipline. Janelle attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. In 1998, Janelle earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in Equine Production. During her time in college, Janelle developed a desire to not only train, show, and prepare horses, but also the individuals who ride and show these wonderful animals. She became the assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls Intercollegiate Equestrian Team. After successfully competing with her collegiate students at the University of Wisconsin for 4 years, Janelle and her husband Dave decided to move closer to their families.
In 2002, Janelle moved back to Norwalk, Iowa. She has worked hard to build her successful training business. Janelle Ward Performance Horses has grown tremendously in the past 5 years after moving her business to Central Iowa. She is ready for you to come and join her winning team!
Janelle has trained and coached many successful horse and rider combinations. For example, in 2004 Taylor Kivell (in her 2nd year of showing) was the IBHA Reserve World Champion in Youth 13 & Under Showmanship. In 2005, Janelle and her clients had another successful year showing the IBHA circuit and the IBHA and ABRA World Shows.
Janelle’s clientele grew extensively in 2005 as well. In 2006, Janelle and her clients had great success throughout the year. By the end of the year, Janelle and her clients were circuit and reserve circuit champions, reserve world champions, and had accomplished much, much more beyond the awards.
